An innovator in business development, founder Ken Sapp has deep "in-the-trenches" experience in helping build successful, multinational serice businesses from scratch. His leadership responsibilities have always focused on revenue growth and market expansion. Trust and integrity are paramount, and he has built solid relationships with so many incredible global customers.

 

Software and services are at the core of his expertise, starting in his channel sales career at Oracle. From there, decades of focus on enterprise software for Field Service was vital in his role as a founding executive of two successful field service startup organizations.

 

Organizing and delivering field services - at scale - across an entire nation is extremely difficult. Many companies claim it, but few, if any, can truly deliver it consistently. In 2010, the budding EV industry was in need of two service solutions - one for residential services, and one for commercial services. Ken's experience with the inner workings of service delivery companies combined with innovation and an edge on technology led to the design of a new platform and the creation of very well-run national service networks over two companies.

 

The first was with an innovation group as Sr. VP Channel Development focused on commercial EV services at The Linc Group, which was acquired by ABM in 2010. Ken's business development expertise was exhibited from the business plan, market analysis, core revenue, large EV project wins, pipeline generation, sales team development and training, partner channel creation, contracts, customer acquisition, revenue growth. This business unit became the industry's most prominent national installation companies for the auto OEMs and auto dealers at the time. Then, a few core leaders of that team gained permission to spin off the business and create a new company called Qmerit in 2016. 

 

The second full-cycle of business development was seen in Ken's founding executive role at Qmerit. He contributed to the initial business plan, helped secure investors, help establish the industry reputation as General Manager of the EV business unit, developed core revenue growth, and ultimately had a positive impact that led to a strategic company acquisition. Ken helped create the business structure, core revenue streams, technology platform features, customer base, business partnerships and market segments for Qmerit's home EV charging business. The resulting business delivered tens of thousands of high quality Level 2 charger installations annually across the US and Canada.  

 

As the leader of residential service sales, he won contracts and partnerships with major automotive OEMs, Fleet Management Companies, Fleet Managers/owners, and EVSE partners. Strategic customers include GM, GM Envolve, Ford, Ford Pro, BMW, Rivian, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, VW Group, Wheels fleet management, Element fleet management, Enterprise fleet mgmt, ChargePoint as well as many large corporate fleet customers.

After multiple RFP wins and the development of a strong partnership, Qmerit residential services have been featured on national TV commercials from Ford Motor during the 2024 NFL Super Bowl and the 2024 MLB World Series.
